... 7 days to go!
The big day is only one week away! Are you getting all excited?
The pace of the holidays can stress out the sanest of us.
We would like to share a few things that you can do to de-stress your holidays ... and when you read them, they will make perfect sense.
Check them out.
1. Lower your expectations of the holidays. Don't make unrealistic plans. Remember all your kids really want is your time ... the rest will fall into place.
2. Take care of yourself. It is easy to let go of exercise patterns during the holidays but holding true to them is one of the biggest favours you can do for yourself.
3. Despite the busy schedules and hectic pace try to get plenty of sleep ... this will help you get through the holidays with less chance of getting sick.
4. Don't be scared to ask for help. Most things done during the holidays are more fun when you include your children and spouse.
5. Don't tax your thin budget. Instead of buying for everyone draw names. Fewer gifts to buy saves you money and that will go a long way to de-stressing!
6. Try making some gifts with your kids. It's a great way to spend time with them and they will be so proud of their accomplishment.
7. This is a great time to read stories about the holidays to your children. These are memories and traditions that will last a lifetime. Remember their favorites year to year ...they will look forward to them.
8. Note things that your children enjoy that you may make into your own traditions for future years. Sometimes having things to look forward to can de-stress you as well.
9. Realize that you are not perfect and accept it. Once you do, it will take a lot of pressure off of you and off your family.
10. Don't do anything in December that will fill you with regret in January. Don't over spend and don't over eat.
