ANGELA BORGIA BIO
Characters - The Borgias Fan Wiki

Angela Borgia was a cousin of Lucrezia Borgia and a great friend. She lived in the Vatican as a companion to Lucrezia and a political pawn used by Pope Alexander VI. Her father was Jofre Borgia Lanzol a nephew of Rodrigo's and her mother Juana de Mancado.

Angela had eight elder siblings, we know the names of the following five: her eldest brother, Juan Borgia Lanzol (1470-1500), Cardinal legate since 1496; her brother Pedro Luis, Cardinal since 1500; her brother Lodovico, Cardinal; her brother Rodrigo, Captain of the Papal Guards; and her sister Hieronyma (Girolama), who was married to Fabio Orsini on 8, September 1498.

Later, when she accompanied Lucrezia to Ferrara where she caught the eye of Cardinal Ippolito d'Este and the illegitimate Giulio d'Este. Both began competing for her love and affection. After making it obvious that she preferred Giulio, she remarked to Ippolito that Giulio's eyes were worth all of Ippolito. One day, when Giulio and Ippolito met hunting, Ippolito, angered, set his men on Giulio to kill him. However, his men did not kill Giulio but gauged out his eyes. This prompted Giulio to conspire against Ippolito and Alfonso.

Angela married Count Alessandro Pio of Carpi and of Sassuolo († 1518), probably born between 1486 and 1490, son of Count Ghiberto Pio of Carpi and of Sassuolo and Elenora Bentivoglio, born in 1470, daughter of Giovanni II Bentivoglio, Lord of Bologna, and Ginerva Sforza; Angela and Alessandro married on 6, December 1506.

Her son Ghiberto (1508-1554) married the illegitimate daughter of Cardinal Ippolito d'Este, Elisabetta or Isabella.
