Planned to pursue a career in neuroscience when studying at Earl Haig Secondary School in North York, Ontario. Went so far as to win the University of Maryland, Baltimore's Brain Bee in grade 12. Was also a member of the school's winning dragon boat race team. Prior to first film role, was studying at the University of Toronto (2005), and returned there to pursue a Masters in the History of Medicine. Holds honors degree in human biology and zoology.
